In November 2020 Waag published a report on Digital European Public Spaces. The report is not the latest of where we are, but it provides background information that can help anyone understand our current work. 

In this report, we presented our mission to create open, democratic and sustainable public spaces, locally and in Europe. This mission was based on research conducted in spring 2020. Together with a wide range of organisations we identified the need for digital public spaces and the underlying values. We proposed a set of preliminary rules to uphold them and reviewed the current progress towards creating these spaces. One of the main takeaways was the need for organisations and initiatives to tie all isolated efforts spread over the continent and to create a united, connected approach.
